2.1 Automatically Collected Information:

Device Information: Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers
Usage Data: App features accessed, time spent on app, interaction patterns
Advertising ID: Google Advertising ID (GAID) for personalized advertisements
Crash Reports: Technical data when app malfunctions
AI Usage: Anonymous daily generation count (not linked to your identity)

2.2 Information You Provide:

Favorite Quotes: Quotes you mark as favorites (stored locally)
My Quotes: Custom quotes you create (stored locally on your device)
AI Prompts: Category & language inputs sent to AI service for quote generation
Language Preferences: Your selected language (English/Hindi/Marathi)
Notification Preference: Whether you enabled daily reminders and push updates
Custom Images: Photos you upload for quote images (processed locally)
Your Name (optional): If you add your name to greeting cards, it is saved only on your device and printed on the images you choose to share
Custom Occasion Text (optional): Any festival or occasion wording you type, saved only on your device
Your Own Wish (optional): A message you write for a greeting card, saved only on your device
Clipboard: When you share to WhatsApp, the app copies its Play Store link to your clipboard so you can paste it as a caption. The app never reads your clipboard

2.3 Push Notification Data (if enabled):

FCM device token: So we can deliver daily quote reminders and optional admin updates
Firebase Installation ID: Anonymous device identifier (not your name or email)
App version and language code: Sent with the token to deliver relevant content
Stored on Google Firebase servers only when notifications are enabled

2.4 Voice Reading (Text-to-Speech):

When you tap the voice button, the quote text is passed to the text-to-speech engine installed on your device (for example Google Speech Services)
Depending on the voice you have selected, that engine may process the text on your device or on its own servers, under its own privacy policy
We do not record, store, or transmit any audio

2.5 We DO NOT Collect:

Your name, email, or phone number
Precise GPS location
Camera or microphone data
Contacts or call logs
Any personally identifiable information (PII)

3. How We Use Your Information

3.1 Core App Functions:

Display motivational quotes in multiple languages
Save your favorite quotes locally on your device
Store your custom quotes (My Quotes feature) locally
Enable quote sharing and image creation features
Remember your language and display preferences
Generate AI quotes based on your selected category and language
Create Good Morning, Good Night and festival greeting cards that you can save or share
Deliver optional daily quote reminders (morning and night) at the times you choose
Send optional push notifications about new quotes or app updates (if enabled)
Display quotes on the optional home screen widget

3.2 Advertising:

Show relevant advertisements via Google AdMob
Personalize ads based on your interests (optional)
Measure ad performance and effectiveness

3.3 App Improvement:

Analyze usage patterns to enhance user experience
Fix bugs and improve app stability
Develop new features based on user behavior

4. Third-party Services

Our app uses the following third-party services:

4.1 Google AdMob (Advertising):

Purpose: Display advertisements
Data Shared: Advertising ID, device info, usage data

Purpose: Quote database, push notifications (FCM), and anonymous device tokens
Data Shared: FCM token, anonymous installation ID, language preference, app version, app usage for quote delivery

Purpose: App functionality and updates
Data Shared: Device information

4.4 AI Quote Generation (Third-Party AI Providers):

Purpose: Generate motivational quotes using AI language models
Data Sent: Category name, language code, and requested quote count (no personal data)
Anonymous Auth: Firebase Anonymous Authentication is used to enforce daily free limits; no account or name is created
Data NOT sent: Device ID, name, location, photos, or any personally identifiable information
Note: Third-party AI service providers may collect the query data submitted to them for the purpose of service delivery and improvement, in accordance with their own privacy policies.

These services may collect data as described in their own privacy policies.

5. Data Storage And Security

5.1 Local Storage:

Favorites, My Quotes, streaks, and preferences are stored locally on your device
Quote of the Day is cached locally for the current day
Your greeting card name and chosen occasion stay on your device; they are never sent to our servers
Greeting and quote images you save are written to your device gallery and stay under your control
We do not store your name, email, or phone number on our servers
Your quote favorites are never shared with other users

5.2 Server Storage (limited):

If you enable notifications: anonymous FCM token and installation ID are stored on Firebase to deliver push messages
Quote text is loaded from Firebase Firestore (public quote library, not your personal data)
You can stop server token storage by disabling notifications in app Settings or device settings

5.3 AI Data Handling:

AI requests contain only category + language; no personal identifiers
Generated quotes are returned directly and not stored on our servers
Daily generation count is tracked anonymously via Firebase

5.4 Security Measures:

Industry-standard encryption for data transmission
Secure coding practices to prevent unauthorized access
Regular security updates and patches

5.5 Data Retention:

Local data persists until you uninstall the app
You can clear app data anytime from device settings

6. Your Rights And Choices

6.1 Advertising Choices:

Opt-out of personalized ads in device settings
Android: Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization
Reset Advertising ID in the same settings menu

6.2 Data Access:

View favorites: Open app > Favorites tab
View My Quotes: Open app > My Quotes tab
Delete favorites: Tap heart icon on any quote
Delete My Quotes: Tap delete icon in My Quotes section
Clear all data: Device Settings > Apps > Quote Next > Clear Data

6.3 App Permissions:

Notifications: Optional — for daily quote reminders and app updates (Android 13+)
Storage: Required for saving and sharing quote images (older Android versions)
Internet: Required for loading quotes, ads, AI generation, and push registration
You can revoke permissions in device settings at any time

6.4 Notifications:

Daily reminders are optional and can be turned off in Settings
Disabling notifications stops new FCM token use; you may clear app data to remove local caches

7. Children's Privacy

Quote Next is family-friendly and suitable for all ages. However:

We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13
If you're under 13, please use with parental supervision
Parents can contact us to delete any child's data
All advertisements are family-safe via AdMob filters

8. International Data Transfers

App is available globally
Data processed by Google may be transferred internationally
All transfers comply with applicable data protection laws

9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights:

Right to Know: Request what personal data we collect
Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal data
Right to Opt-Out: Opt-out of data "sale" (we don't sell data)

This website (quotenextapp.web.app) shows quotes from the public Quote Next library. It does not use cookies, analytics or advertising, and it does not ask for any personal information. Copy and share buttons work only in your browser. The site is hosted on Google Firebase, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security, under Firebase's privacy terms.
